Informational Use Only

The content, tools, and calculations provided in this application are intended for general informational and educational purposes only. This application does not provide medical advice and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or medical condition.

The information presented should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Users should not rely solely on this application when making health-related decisions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making changes to your diet, exercise routine, or lifestyle, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a history of disordered eating, or have concerns related to nutrition, weight management, or physical activity.

This application does not measure, diagnose, monitor, or assess medical conditions, vital signs, biomarkers, or physiological signals, and it does not replace professional medical care.

Nature of Estimates and Accuracy

All values generated by this application are estimates derived from population-level data and commonly used predictive equations. Individual calorie needs and responses vary widely based on many factors, including but not limited to genetics, medical history, body composition, age, sex, lifestyle, activity level, and adherence.

No guarantee is made regarding the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of the results to any individual user. Actual outcomes may differ significantly from estimates provided by the application.

How Calorie Estimates Are Calculated

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR)

Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) is estimated using the Harris–Benedict equation, a widely recognized predictive equation originally developed to estimate resting energy expenditure based on age, sex, height, and body weight.

The Harris–Benedict equation provides an estimate of the number of calories required to maintain basic physiological functions at rest. This value is an approximation and does not account for individual metabolic variability.

Maintenance Calories

Estimated daily maintenance calories are calculated by applying a standard activity multiplier to the estimated BMR. Activity multipliers are based on commonly used categorizations of physical activity (e.g., sedentary, lightly active, moderately active, very active).

These multipliers are generalized estimates and do not capture all forms of physical activity, occupational movement, or individual differences in energy expenditure.

Calorie Targets and Estimated Change

Calorie targets and estimated weekly changes are calculated using basic arithmetic differences between estimated maintenance calories and selected intake goals. Any projected changes are rough mathematical estimates only and should be interpreted as a general starting point rather than a prediction of real-world results.

Limitations

The application does not:

  • Perform medical testing or measurements
  • Detect or monitor diseases or health conditions
  • Provide individualized medical recommendations
  • Replace evaluation or guidance from a licensed healthcare professional

The application is not designed for use in clinical diagnosis or treatment and should not be used to make medical decisions.
